Managing behaviour

Transforming Challenging Behaviour Training

While working within Further Education I have worked successfully with the students that most other tutors shy away from. I am not a specialist in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Autism or Dyspraxia or any other condition that affects learning. My aim has always been to offer a positive experience of education in an environment that is stimulating, challenging and where the young people feel safe, respected and valued.

My work is underpinned by a clear belief that when young people are challenging it is usually because their needs are not being met. Basic needs that are no longer met at home or in the community need to be met somewhere. Challenging behavior is often a demand from young people to have their needs addressed. As students’ needs are constantly changing the need for staff to be equipped with up to date information and training becomes essential. However my experience is that there is a lack of relevant training in managing these increasingly challenging young people. As a result professionals find themselves struggling in a career that is becoming increasingly demanding and stressful.

I offer creative, thought provoking training workshops that have been born from years of practical experience, extensive research and ongoing professional development.

This empowering and motivating training will:

I aim to share what I have learnt so that my colleagues within education are better equipped to drive forward the ‘agenda for change’ and able to create a healthier environment where learning can take place without the need for challenging behavior.
